| Using today's powerful computers it is possible
to solve complex industrial problems with scientific calculations.
It is often a more cost-efficient way than using model or full scale
experiments. Scientific calculations will also yield a deeper understanding
of the investigated process or of new designs before manufacturing.
With Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) it is possible to analyze
how fluids (gases or liquids) behave using computer models. You
can for instance investigate the flow field and temperature distribution
in a heat exchanger, study the flame in a furnace or minimize the
losses in a pipe network.
ETC offers advanced CFD analyses in a variety of fields. ETC's
CFD team includes five people, all with post master degrees (four
PhDs and one Tech lic). Together we have more than 30 years of experience
of using CFD, both for research and development and in industrial
applications.
We are specialized in combustion and gasification, but do projects
within many other fields as well. We use the commercial software
package ANSYS CFX 10 from ANSYS Inc. and perform the calculations
on our workstations. We also do cost effective optimization using
CFD.
Our strong research background garantuees high quality and our
vast experimental activities at ETC give us a deep understanding
of the practical aspects of the problems as well as giving us the
possibility to validate the computer models.
